Lieutenant Krey was the squad leader in charge of the perimeter security garrison for the Klingon weapons facility at Diotama III. While conducting security patrols on that planet, his security forces encountered three officers from the Federation Starship, USS Farragut. Even though his forces greatly outnumbered the small Federation party, he failed to capture them. His failure directly resulted in the destruction of the weapons facility, embarrassing the Klingon Empire and bringing dishonor not only to himself but also to his entire family.
